Praying the Scriptures

Sunday Evening Prayer

August 18, 2024

Nevertheless I am continually with you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me with honor. (Psalm 73:23–24)

Heavenly Father,

As the night enfolds us in its gentle embrace, we come before You with hearts grateful for Your unwavering presence. "Nevertheless I am continually with You; You hold my right hand," and in this promise, we find immeasurable comfort.

Lead us, O Lord, through the quiet hours of this night. Guide us with Your counsel, for in You we place our trust. As we lay down our burdens, soothe our spirits, and close our eyes in peaceful slumber, remind us that we are never alone. You are our steadfast companion on this journey, holding us close and steering us through both challenges and joys.

May our souls, refreshed by the stillness of the night, awaken renewed, ready to follow You wherever You lead, until You "receive [us] with honor." For in Your presence is the fullness of joy, and in Your hands, we find our peace.

Amen.

I hope this prayer brings you comfort and peace through the night.
