Praying the Scriptures
Sunday Evening Prayer
August 4, 2024
I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. (Ephesians 4:1–3)
Heavenly Father,
As the sun sets and the quiet of evening envelops us, we come before You with hearts seeking peace and unity. You have called us, Lord, to live lives worthy of the calling we have received—lives marked by humility, gentleness, and patience. Help us to bear with one another in love, making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
In the stillness of this night, remind us of the grace that binds us as one body in Christ. Teach us to walk in a manner that reflects Your love and to handle our differences with the tenderheartedness that You have shown us. May our actions and words be guided by Your Spirit, fostering harmony and understanding within our families, communities, and beyond.
We ask for the strength to embody these virtues, not just tonight but in all our days. May our relationships reflect Your compassion and our lives be a testimony to the unity that comes from You.
Grant us a restful night, Lord, and prepare our hearts for the days to come, filled with opportunities to glorify You through unity and love.
In Jesus' name, we pray,
Amen.
I hope this prayer brings you comfort and peace through the night.
