Praying the Scriptures
Tuesday Evening Prayer
August 13, 2024
So the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. I, I am he who comforts you. (Isaiah 51:11–12a)
O Lord,
As the day draws to a close, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude and hope. Your Word, through the prophet Isaiah, reminds us of Your everlasting promises and unfailing love.
"The ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. I, I am he who comforts you."
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the promise of redemption and the joy that comes with knowing You. As we rest tonight, may Your everlasting joy fill our hearts and minds, driving away all sorrow and sighing.
Grant us Your comfort, Lord, as we lay down our burdens at Your feet. In moments of weariness, let us remember Your tender mercies and find solace in Your embrace. Guide our thoughts towards peace and our dreams towards hope.
Lord, we seek Your presence in the quiet of the evening. Let Your Spirit renew us, preparing our hearts for the new day ahead. May we awaken with songs of praise and thanksgiving, ready to walk in the light of Your love.
In Jesus' name, we pray.
Amen.
May this prayer bring you peace and comfort this evening.
