Praying the Scriptures
Tuesday Evening Prayer
August 27, 2024
Hear, O LORD, when I cry aloud, be gracious to me and answer me! “Come,” my heart says, “seek his face!” Your face, LORD, do I seek. Do not hide your face from me. (Psalm 27:7–9a)
Heavenly Father,
In the quiet of this evening, I call upon You, Lord. Hear my voice when I cry out to You; be gracious and answer me. My heart whispers Your invitation, "Seek My face." Your presence is what I seek, Lord; do not hide Your face from me.
As the sun sets and shadows lengthen, let Your light dispel the darkness around and within me. In Your mercy, turn not away in anger from Your servant. You have been my help; do not leave me or forsake me, O God of my salvation.
In the stillness, I seek Your face. Strengthen my heart to hold fast to Your promises. Guide me in Your truth as I rest in Your unending love and faithfulness.
Amen.
May this prayer bring you peace and comfort this evening.
