Praying the Scriptures
Wednesday Evening Prayer
August 7, 2024
While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become children of light. (John 12:36)
Heavenly Father,
As the day draws to a close and the night envelops us, we are reminded of Your Son's words: 'While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become children of light.' We thank You for the guidance and protection You have provided us throughout this day.
As darkness falls, we seek Your light to shine upon our hearts and minds. Grant us the grace to believe in Your light and to live as children of light, reflecting Your love and truth in our daily lives. May our faith in You grow stronger, illuminating the paths we walk and the decisions we make.
Lord, as we rest tonight, we pray for Your peace to calm our minds and renew our spirits. Fill us with the hope and assurance that comes from knowing we are in Your care. Guide us to wake with a renewed sense of purpose and a commitment to walk in Your light, no matter the challenges we may face.
We entrust our loved ones to Your care, asking for Your blessings and protection over them. May Your light shine brightly in our homes and communities, bringing comfort, joy, and peace.
In Jesus' name, we pray.
Amen.
May this prayer bring you comfort and strength as you reflect on God's promises this evening.
