Praying the Scriptures
Friday Morning Prayer
August 23, 2024
Therefore, brothers and sisters, be all the more eager to confirm your call and election, for if you do this, you will never stumble. For in this way, entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly provided for you. (2Peter 1:10–11)
Gracious and loving God,
As the dawn breaks and the light of a new day fills our hearts, we come before You with gratitude. We give thanks for Your enduring love and the countless blessings You bestow upon us each day.
Lord, You have called us to a holy purpose, and through Your divine power, You have granted us everything we need for life and godliness. Help us, we pray, to make every effort to confirm our calling and election. Strengthen our resolve to live in a manner worthy of the high calling You have placed upon us.
We ask for Your guidance and wisdom as we navigate the challenges of this day. May we remain steadfast in our faith, diligent in our efforts, and unwavering in our pursuit of righteousness. Lead us away from anything that may cause us to stumble, and instead, help us to walk confidently on the path You have set before us.
Lord, we long for the rich welcome into Your eternal kingdom, the kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Keep our eyes fixed on this promise, and may it inspire us to live each moment for Your glory.
In the name of Jesus, who reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever, we pray.
Amen.
May this prayer bring you peace and inspiration for the day ahead.
