Praying the Scriptures
Sunday Morning Prayer
August 11, 2024
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of the messenger who announces peace, who brings good news, who announces salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” Listen! Your sentinels lift up their voices, together they sing for joy; for in plain sight they see the return of the Lord to Zion. (Isaiah 52:7–8)
Heavenly Father,
We greet this day with joy, inspired by Your word that resounds like the beautiful feet of those who bring good news. As the mountains burst into song and the watchmen lift their voices in unison, we, too, raise our praises to You, proclaiming the peace and salvation You have bestowed upon us.
Lord, in the quiet of this morning, let us feel Your presence as vividly as the watchmen who eagerly awaited the return of peace to Jerusalem. May the comfort of Your Spirit settle upon us, reminding us of Your enduring faithfulness and the boundless joy of Your kingdom.
Guide our steps today, O God, that we might walk in the light of Your truth. Empower us to be messengers of Your peace, carriers of good tidings, and heralds of Your salvation. Let our words and actions reflect Your love and grace to all we encounter.
In the name of Jesus, who is our Peace and our Salvation, we pray,
Amen.
I hope this prayer brings you peace and inspiration for your day.
