Praying the Scriptures
Thursday Morning Prayer
August 15, 2024
In our prayers for you we always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints, because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. You have heard of this hope before in the word of the truth, the gospel. (Colossians 1:3–5)
Heavenly Father,
We begin this day in gratitude, offering You thanks as we remember the faithful love You have shown us through Jesus Christ. We pray with joyful hearts, acknowledging Your grace that has spread across our lives and the lives of all believers.
Lord, we hold firmly to the hope promised by the gospel, the hope that is stored up for us in heaven, of which we have heard in the true word of the gospel. May this hope be the anchor for our souls, guiding our actions and filling us with a profound peace.
As we go about our day, let the love that springs from this hope be evident in all that we do. Let us be vessels of Your kindness and compassion, reaching out to those in need and speaking words of encouragement and healing.
Strengthen us with the wisdom and spiritual understanding that comes from Your Spirit. May we live lives worthy of You, Lord, fully pleasing to You, bearing fruit in every good work, and growing in the knowledge of God.
In Jesus’ name, we pray,
Amen.
May this prayer bring you peace and inspiration for your day.
