Praying the Scriptures
Tuesday Morning Prayer
September 3, 2024
So we do not lose heart. Even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure, because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen; for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:16–18)
Gracious God,
As we wake to this new day, we lift our hearts to You with thanksgiving. Though our outer nature may feel weary, we trust in Your promise that our inner nature is being renewed day by day. Strengthen us with Your Spirit, so that we may not lose heart in the face of life's trials and challenges.
Help us to see beyond our present troubles and recognize them as momentary, light afflictions compared to the eternal glory You are preparing for us. Open our eyes, O Lord, to the unseen and eternal, to the hope and joy that lie beyond this earthly life. May we fix our gaze not on what is seen but on what is unseen, knowing that what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is everlasting.
Guide our steps today, and let Your presence be our constant companion. Fill us with Your peace and purpose, and grant us the courage to live this day for Your glory. In Jesus' name, we pray.
Amen.
May this prayer bring you peace and guidance as you start your day.
