Praying the Scriptures
Wednesday Morning Prayer
September 4, 2024
He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy, through the water of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. This Spirit he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. (Titus 3:5–7)
Heavenly Father,
As the dawn breaks and a new day begins, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude and awe for Your boundless mercy and grace. We remember Your words from Titus 3:5–7, which remind us that it is not by our own deeds or righteousness that we are saved, but by Your mercy alone. Through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, You have generously poured out Your Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ, our Savior.
Today, we thank You for the gift of salvation, for the new life You have granted us, not by our own merits, but through Your great love. Help us, Lord, to live as heirs to the hope of eternal life, reflecting Your grace and mercy in all that we do. May our words, thoughts, and actions be a testament to Your kindness and love.
Guide us to walk humbly and faithfully, serving others as You have served us, and to extend the same mercy and compassion that we have received. Let Your Spirit renew our hearts and minds today, that we may be instruments of Your peace and love in this world.
In the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior, we pray.
Amen.
May this prayer bring you strength and encouragement as you go about your day!
