Praying the Scriptures
Monday Evening Prayer
October 28, 2024
Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and pay your vows to the Most High. Call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me. (Psalm 50:14–15)
Heavenly Father,
As the hues of sunset paint the vast New Mexican skies, I come before You in tranquility, offering the sacrifice of thanksgiving and fulfilling my vows to the Most High.
Lord, in the stillness of this October evening, I call upon You, knowing You will answer. In times of trouble, You are my steadfast deliverer; in moments of peace, You are my constant guide. Your presence is as comforting as the cool evening breeze that whispers through the desert.
As the stars begin to dot the heavens above, I am reminded of Your infinite majesty and the promise of Your faithfulness. Help me to always walk in gratitude, acknowledging the bounty of Your creations and the blessings You have bestowed upon me.
Teach me, O God, to maintain a thankful heart, one that praises You not only in times of abundance but also in moments of scarcity. Let my life be a continual offering to You, and may my words and deeds reflect Your glory and love.
In the quiet of this night, I lay my prayers at Your feet, trusting in Your mercy and wisdom to guide me through another week. Hear my voice when I call, O Lord. Be near me and uplift my spirit as I rest in the assurance of Your eternal peace.
Amen.
May this prayer bring peace and reflection to your evening.
