Praying the Scriptures
Saturday Evening Prayer
October 26, 2024
And now I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one, as we are one. (John 17:11)
Heavenly Father,
As the golden hues of October dusk settle over the Land of Enchantment, I find my heart reaching for the unity that Jesus spoke of in His sacred prayer. Under the expansive New Mexican sky, let us be one, just as You, Father, are in Jesus, and He is in You.
Bless this evening with a spirit of harmony that mirrors the tranquil deserts and the serene mesas. Let the whisper of the wind through the chamisa and the rustle of cottonwood leaves be a reminder of Your constant presence, binding us together in divine purpose.
Protect us from the solitude that creeps in with the shadows; instead, fill us with the companionship and fellowship that comes from You. As the stars begin to pepper the sky, let our souls be alight with the love that You have bestowed upon us, a love that transcends all barriers and binds us eternally to You.
Grant us the grace to remain faithful to Your call, to be guardians of the unity You desire. Let every thought, every action, reflect the oneness of Your Spirit so that in everything we do, we might glorify You.
In the name of Jesus, who connects us all, I pray.
Amen.
May this prayer bring peace and comfort to your evening.
