Praying the Scriptures

Saturday Evening Prayer

October 5, 2024

Then looking up to heaven, he sighed and said to him, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.” And immediately his ears were opened, his tongue was released, and he spoke plainly. (Mark 7:34–35)

Heavenly Father,

As the sun sets and this day closes, we reflect on Your words, that it is not enough to restore only ourselves but to illuminate the paths of all nations with Your divine light. As we rest in the peaceful embrace of the night, may we also rest in Your promise of salvation, a beacon of hope that reaches the furthest corners of the Earth.

Lord, empower us to rise beyond our limits and boundaries, to be bearers of Your light and love. Help us to lift others, to bring healing where there is hurt, and to offer hope where despair may dwell. Let our actions reflect Your boundless mercy, and let our lives be testimonies of Your grace.

Guide us in Your wisdom, that we might serve You more faithfully. Keep us steadfast in our journey to bring joy to the downtrodden and to stand as witnesses of Your everlasting salvation. As we sleep tonight, renew our spirits, that we might shine brighter tomorrow.

In Your holy and precious name, we pray,

Amen.

May this prayer bring peace and comfort to your evening.
