Praying the Scriptures
Friday Morning Prayer
October 25, 2024
For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. (John 8:12)
Gracious and loving God,
On this crisp October morning, as the New Mexican sun rises over the desert, I come before You with a grateful heart. I remember Your words, spoken through Jesus, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life."
Lord, let Your light guide my steps today. As the golden light touches the landscape, let it remind me that Your presence is always with me, leading me through every shadow and every uncertainty. Fill my heart with the warmth of Your love, and may I reflect that light to those around me, bringing hope, peace, and kindness wherever I go.
In the beauty of this desert land, with its vast open skies and quiet spaces, I am reminded of Your vast love and endless grace. Help me to walk in Your light, to follow You with all my heart, and to trust in Your goodness, no matter what challenges the day may bring.
Thank You, Lord, for the gift of this new day and for the assurance that I will never walk alone. You are my light, my guide, and my strength.
In Jesus’ holy name, I pray
Amen.
May this prayer bring you peace and inspiration for the day ahead.
