Friday Evening Prayer
October 25, 2024
For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. (John 16:27)
Lord Jesus,
You who declared, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life," shine Your eternal light upon my path this cool October evening. As the sun sets earlier and the nights grow longer, remind me that Your light never diminishes; it pierces through the deepest shadows and guides me in my walk with You.
In this quiet hour, as the vibrant leaves rustle in the gentle breeze and the world prepares for rest, help me to reflect on the ways I have followed Your light today. Illuminate the moments I might have wandered into shadows and grant me the grace to return to Your path.
May Your light not only guide me but also glow within me, so that through my words and actions, others might see Your love and truth. As the stars begin to dot the sky, let Your peace settle over my heart, and renew my spirit for the days to come.
In Your holy name, I pray,
Amen.
