Praying the Scriptures
Saturday Morning Prayer
October 19, 2024
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7)
Heavenly Father,
As I awaken to this crisp October morning in New Mexico, I am reminded of Your peace which surpasses all understanding. Let it guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus as I step into the day.
With the mountains standing firm under the spread of the dawn, and the cool air whispering of change, let Your peace fill me. Let it be the shield around my emotions and the guardian over my thoughts.
As the leaves turn from green to gold and the sun climbs slowly in the clear sky, help me to trust in Your promises and to rest in the assurance of Your care. May I reflect this peace in my interactions, spreading calm and kindness to those I meet.
In moments of uncertainty or haste, remind me of this morning's quiet, drawing me back to the stillness that speaks of Your everlasting presence. Grant me the courage to face the challenges of the day with the same serenity that touches the high deserts and valleys alike.
Thank you for the gift of this day, for the beauty of creation that declares Your glory, and for the peace that only You can give. May my words and actions be a testament to the peace I embrace this morning.
In Jesus’ name, I pray,
Amen.
I hope this prayer brings you peace and inspiration as you start your day.
