Sunday Morning Prayer

October 20, 2024

Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm. The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples. (Psalm 33:8–10)

Heavenly Father,

On this serene October morning, under the vast New Mexican sky, I come before You in humble adoration. As the earth awakens with hues of amber and gold, I am reminded of Your majesty and the power of Your word, by which the heavens were made and all their host by the breath of Your mouth.

Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. As the gentle breeze whispers through the aspen leaves and the morning light bathes the land in quiet splendor, I stand in awe of Your creation, which speaks of Your sovereignty and grace.

You gather the waters of the sea as in a bottle; You put the deeps in storehouses. Lord, just as You command the natural order, so too do You guide the affairs of nations and the course of history. Your plans stand firm forever, and the designs of Your heart from generation to generation.

In this moment of prayer, I seek to align my heart with Yours. May Your will be done in my life as it is in heaven. Guide my thoughts, my actions, and my words this day, that I might serve as a vessel of Your peace and love. Thwart the plans that are not of You, and establish the works of Your hands in my life and in the world around me.

Bless this day, O Lord, with Your presence and Your peace. Keep us in Your care as we worship, reflect, and walk in the paths You have set before us. For we trust in Your holy name and rely on Your unfailing love.

In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray,

Amen.

I hope this prayer brings you peace and inspiration for your day.
