Praying the Scriptures
Wednesday Morning Prayer
October 23, 2024
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all consolation, who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God. For just as the sufferings of Christ are abundant for us, so also our consolation is abundant through Christ. (2 Corinthians 1:3–5)
Heavenly Father, blessed be Your name—the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort.
As the cool October winds whisper across New Mexico, carrying with them the promise of a changing season, I come before You with a heart grateful for Your presence in my life.
Lord, You who comfort us in all our afflictions, I seek Your gentle embrace this morning. With each leaf that falls, I am reminded of the cycles of renewal and grace that You orchestrate in Your wisdom. In my own seasons of hardship and joy alike, let me always feel Your comforting hand guiding me forward.
As You have comforted me, Father, equip me to be a vessel of Your peace and comfort to others. Let me share the comfort I receive from You with those who are troubled, that they may also know Your love and mercy. In my interactions today, whether they be simple or profound, make me an instrument of Your grace.
Strengthen me, O God, to endure the sufferings as Christ did, knowing that as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so also we share abundantly in comfort by Your hand. Help me to carry this truth into my day, reflecting Your love in all that I do.
Bless this day, Lord. Watch over my steps and guide my actions. May the comfort I have received from You overflow in my spirit and touch the lives of all I encounter. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Amen.
May this prayer bring you strength and encouragement as you go about your day!
