Praying the Scriptures
Friday Evening Prayer
November 15, 2024
The earth has yielded its increase; God, our God, has blessed us. May God continue to bless us; let all the ends of the earth revere him. (Psalm 67:6–7)
Heavenly Father,
As the sun sets over the mesa and the sky paints itself with the vibrant hues of the desert twilight, I come before You in humble gratitude. The earth has given her increase, and from Your boundless generosity, we receive our sustenance.
Lord, You are our God, and You bless us. Your blessings cascade like the waters of the Rio Grande, nurturing the land and sustaining all who dwell in it. May Your ways be known across the earth, Your saving power among all nations.
This evening, as the chill of November whispers through the piñon and juniper, I pray that You continue to guide us in Your truth and shower us with Your grace. Let every corner of our community feel Your love, and every heart echo Your praises.
Bless us, O God, that Your ways may be known upon earth, Your saving power among all nations. Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You.
As the stars begin to glimmer above the Sandias, reflecting the endless expanse of Your creation, may we, too, reflect Your light in the darkness. Strengthen us, Lord, to be bearers of Your peace, harbingers of Your joy, and stewards of Your creation.
In Your holy and enduring name, I pray,
Amen.
May this prayer bring you peace and comfort this evening.
