Praying the Scriptures
Friday Morning Prayer
November 15, 2024
The earth has yielded its increase; God, our God, has blessed us. May God continue to bless us; let all the ends of the earth revere him. (Psalm 67:6–7)
Heavenly Father, who blesses the earth and waters it with your love,
As the dawn breaks over the Florida Mountains and the chill of the high desert morning is warmed by your light, I come before You with a grateful heart. Your paths are rich with mercy, and Your hands open wide to sprinkle blessings upon the fields, the valleys, and our lives.
Lord, the earth has yielded its increase, and everywhere I look, I see the abundance You have showered upon us— from the piñon forests to the rushing Rio Grande. With the same sureness that the sun rises over the mesas, Your ways are steadfast, and Your generosity knows no bounds.
Guide us this day to be stewards of the wondrous gifts You have given. May we share the bounty of our tables and the kindness of our spirits. Let Your way be known upon the earth, Your saving power among all nations.
Bless us again, O God, that all the ends of the earth may revere You. As the land flourishes under Your gaze, so may our souls flourish in Your grace. This day and every day, may our lives sing a song of thanksgiving to You, who is our sun and shield.
In Your holy and enduring name,
Amen.
