Praying the Scriptures

Friday Morning Prayer

November 1, 2024

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom; and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God. (Colossians 3:16)

Heavenly Father,

On this All Saints Day, I gather in the quiet of this New Mexican morning, filled with gratitude and reverence. As the sun rises over the arid landscape, casting golden hues across the land, my heart dwells in the richness of Your word.

Lord, as Your word dwells richly within me, I am reminded of the great cloud of witnesses who have gone before us—the saints who lived out Your teachings and spread Your love through every word and deed. May their examples of faith, courage, and compassion inspire us to live more fully in Your presence.

On this sacred day, I seek to embody the wisdom of the saints, teaching and admonishing with kindness and making my life a melody of worship and praise. May my words uplift those around me, and my actions reflect the sanctity of Your love.

Fill me, O God, with a spirit of thanksgiving as I honor the legacy of those who have shaped our faith. Let their memories be a beacon that guides us toward greater unity and peace. As we celebrate their lives, let us also forge new paths in their footsteps, dedicating ourselves to Your service and the betterment of our world.

In the spirit of the saints, I raise my voice in psalm and hymn, a joyful offering to You. Bless this day, bless our hearts, and keep us in communion with the faithful of every age. Through Jesus Christ our Lord,

Amen.

May this prayer bring you peace and inspiration for the day ahead.
