Friday Morning Prayer

November 22, 2024

Be patient, therefore, beloved, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious crop from the earth, being patient with it until it receives the early and the late rains. (James 5:7)

Heavenly Father,

As I greet this crisp November morning in New Mexico, with the horizon painted in vibrant hues by Your divine hand, I come before You in prayer, patient and expectant as the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth.

Lord, You teach us through Your word that patience nurtures strength, and as the morning chill gives way to the warmth of the sun, so too do our trials fade in the light of Your grace. Help me to stand firm, to cultivate my faith with the diligence of a sower, knowing that the rains You send—both early and late—are gifts that nourish and sustain.

Bless the land that stretches before me, the community that surrounds me, and the lives that intertwine with mine. As the earth patiently bears the seeds sown upon it, yielding a harvest in its appointed time, may my heart be fertile ground for Your virtues of love, compassion, and humility.

In this quiet moment, I remember those facing hardships greater than mine. Comfort them with Your presence, fill them with hope, and guide them through their seasons of waiting. May they feel Your love as palpably as the morning breeze.

Thank you, Father, for the blessings of this life, for the beauty of creation that unfolds day by day. Strengthen my resolve to reflect Your patience in all that I do, trusting in Your perfect timing for all things.

In Jesus’ name, I pray,

Amen.

May this prayer bring you peace and inspiration for the day ahead.
