Monday Morning Prayer

November 4, 2024

But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant. (Hebrews 12:22–24a)

Heavenly Father,

As I greet this brisk November morning under the vast New Mexican sky, I am reminded of Your majestic assembly. I come before You, not to a mountain that can be touched, but to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. Here, with a heart grateful and serene, I join the innumerable angels in a joyful assembly.

Lord, I am humbled to be part of this glorious gathering, part of Your firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. As the chill of the dawn brushes against me, I feel the warmth of Your grace and the presence of the spirits of the righteous made perfect.

Jesus, Mediator of the new covenant, I thank You for Your blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. Let Your voice, which once shook the earth, now instill in us peace and resolve. As I start this day, help me to offer gratitude and worship acceptable to You with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.

Guide my steps and steady my spirit. May the light of Your love shine through my actions and words. Bless those I encounter today with the same peace and joy that fills my soul in Your presence.

In Your holy and precious name, I pray,

Amen.

May this prayer bring you peace and strength as you start your day.
