Praying the Scriptures

Saturday Morning Prayer

November 2, 2024

So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. (Colossians 3:1–2)

Heavenly Father,

On this solemn morning of All Souls Day, as the hues of autumn whisper of life's fleeting tapestry, I come before You with a heart both heavy and hopeful. In the quiet of this new dawn, I remember those who have journeyed on before us, whose laughter and stories are etched forever in the chambers of our hearts.

Lord, as the leaves descend softly upon sacred grounds, echoing the gentle fall of the years passed, I turn my gaze upwards—towards the things that are above, where Christ reigns eternally by Your gracious side. In this celestial contemplation, let my soul find the courage to transcend the transient worries of this world.

Grant me, O Divine Keeper of Time, a spirit that yearns for the heavenly rather than the earthly. On this day of remembrance, let me cherish the spiritual bond that unites us with the departed through the mystical body of Christ. May my mind be lifted from the shadows of grief to the light of Your presence, where all souls find peace and solace.

In the still moments of today, as I honor the memory of all souls, let Your divine peace fill me. Let it be a balm that soothes, a light that guides, and a hope that comforts. Through my faith in Christ, remind me that in Your divine heart, no one is ever truly lost, and love is eternal.

In Jesus' name, I pray,

Amen.

I hope this prayer brings you peace and inspiration as you start your day.
