Praying the Scriptures

Sunday Morning Prayer

November 17, 2024

What will one answer the messengers of the nation? “The LORD has founded Zion, and the needy among his people will find refuge in her.” (Isaiah 14:32)

Heavenly Father,

As I stand beneath the vast expanse of our New Mexico sky this crisp November morning, I am reminded of Your steadfast presence and the refuge You offer Your people. "What will one answer the messengers of the nation? ‘The Lord has founded Zion, and in her, the needy of his people will find refuge.’"

Lord, thank You for the sanctuary You have founded in our hearts and in this blessed community. As the Sandia mountains stand unshaken against the horizon, let our faith in You be just as unmovable. Let us be a refuge for the needy, a safe haven for the lost, and a beacon of hope in the desert.

Pour Your grace upon us so that we may embody the love and compassion You have shown us. Guide us in Your wisdom that we may serve our neighbors in need with open hearts and willing hands.

Bless our gathering this day, fill our hearts with Your word, and our minds with Your peace. As the chilly winds herald the change of seasons, let each gust remind us of the breath of Your Spirit, always moving, always guiding.

In the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, we pray,

Amen.

I hope this prayer brings you peace and inspiration for your day.
