Praying the Scriptures
Sunday Morning Prayer
November 3, 2024
This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all. (1 John 1:5)
Gracious Lord,
As the dawn breaks on this brisk November morning, I am reminded of Your divine message in 1 John: "God is light and in him there is no darkness at all." I approach Your presence with a heart open to the purity and brilliance of Your light.
In the quiet of this new day, cleanse my spirit so that I may walk fully in Your light, shunning the shadows of doubt and fear. Illuminate the paths I should take and guide my steps in the way of righteousness and truth.
Lord, as Your light scatters the darkness, let it also dispel the worries of my heart. Fill me with Your peace so that I may reflect Your love and brightness to others who cross my path today.
Help me to live in honest fellowship with my brothers and sisters, sharing in the light of Your truth. May our conversations be full of grace and our actions be a testament to Your unending love and mercy.
Thank You for the promise of Your constant presence and the warmth of Your light in this cool autumn embrace. In Your holy name, I pray,
Amen.
I hope this prayer brings you peace and inspiration for your day.
