Praying the Scriptures

Tuesday Morning Prayer

November 19, 2024

God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong. (1 Corinthians 1:27)

Gracious God,

As the cool November winds sweep across the New Mexican desert and stir the sands beneath the vast, awakening sky, I am reminded of Your infinite wisdom and grace. You choose the foolish to shame the wise, the weak to shame the strong. This morning, Lord, I am humbled by Your choices—how You use the small and seemingly insignificant to display Your glory.

In this quiet hour, I lift my eyes to the mountains, painted with the first light of dawn, and I thank You for using me, despite my frailties, to be a vessel of Your work. I pray that as I go about my day, I may reflect Your love and grace in every action, every word. Help me to see the beauty in simplicity, the strength in vulnerability, and the wisdom in humility.

Grant me the courage to stand firm in my faith when challenges arise and the compassion to extend Your love to those around me. May my actions today bring hope to the weary and light to those dwelling in darkness. And as the sun sets over the land of enchantment, let me rest in the assurance that in my weaknesses, Your strength is perfected.

Amen.

May this prayer bring you peace and guidance as you start your day.
