Praying the Scriptures
Sunday Morning Prayer
December 29, 2024
Praise the LORD! O give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever. (Psalm 106:1)
Good and gracious Lord,
On this 5th day of Christmas, my heart overflows with gratitude for Your steadfast love. “Praise the Lord! O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever.” As the morning light stretches across the New Mexican sky, painting the desert with hues of gold and rose, I am reminded of Your enduring goodness that brightens even the most arid places in my life.
You have filled my days with blessings as numerous as the stars that shine over these wide, open lands. The beauty of this season—the warmth of family, the laughter of friends, and the comfort of traditions—testifies to Your love that never wavers.
Lord, I thank You for the gift of this day and for the gift of Your Son, whose birth we continue to celebrate with joy. Guide my steps today so that I may walk in love and compassion, sharing Your goodness with others. Let my words and actions reflect Your light, bringing hope to the weary and kindness to the overlooked.
As the day unfolds, help me to remain anchored in Your love, finding reasons to give thanks in every moment. Whether in the quiet rustling of the wind or the vibrant sounds of celebration, let my heart continually sing of Your goodness.
Thank You, Lord, for the privilege of praising You. Thank You for Your steadfast love that sustains me, now and forever.
Amen.
I hope this prayer brings you peace and inspiration for your day.
