Praying the Scriptures
Tuesday Morning Prayer
December 31, 2024
Long ago you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you endure; they will all wear out like a garment. You change them like clothing, and they pass away; but you are the same, and your years have no end. (Psalm 102:25–27)
O Eternal Creator,
As the soft light of this New Mexican morning breaks over the desert, I pause in awe of Your unchanging majesty. Long before the first rays touched these lands, You laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens were the work of Your hands.
Though the mountains may crumble and the stars fade from the sky, You, O Lord, remain steadfast. The ageless adobe walls and ancient piñon trees that surround me tell of time’s passing, but You are the same yesterday, today, and forever.
On this seventh day of Christmas, my heart overflows with gratitude for the gift of Your Son, who entered this transient world to bring eternal hope. The same hands that shaped the galaxies cradle my soul with love and mercy.
Guide me today, Lord, to reflect Your eternal truth in my fleeting moments. Let my words and actions be as pure as the morning air, carrying Your light to those I meet. May I stand firm, rooted in the knowledge that Your years have no end, and neither does Your love for Your children.
In the name of Jesus, the One who is, who was, and who is to come, I lift this prayer.
Amen.
May this prayer bring you peace and guidance as you start your day.
