Praying the Scriptures
Friday Morning Prayer
January 3, 2025
The LORD has proclaimed to the end of the earth: Say to daughter Zion, “See, your salvation comes; his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.” (Isaiah 62:11)
Heavenly Father,
In the crisp chill of this New Mexican dawn, where the red rocks echo Your glory and the wide skies tell of Your majesty, I come before You with a heart full of gratitude. Your Word resounds through the valleys and mesas: “See, your salvation comes; His reward is with Him, and His recompense before Him.”
Lord, as the yuccas stand firm and the chiles dry in the sun, remind me that Your promises are ever true and Your deliverance is at hand. May the warmth of Your love thaw any coldness in my spirit, and may the light of Your Son brighten the shadows of this winter season.
Bless this day, O Lord, with Your presence. Guide my steps like the shepherds of old who journeyed by night to behold the newborn King, driven by the star over Bethlehem. Let my actions reflect Your grace and mercy, and may my words sing of Your peace, as harmonious as the morning song of the roadrunner.
As the tenth day of Christmas unfolds, fill my heart with the joy of Your salvation. Let me be a bearer of Your good news, carrying the hope of Your eternal love to every corner of my life, like the luminarias that light up our adobe paths.
In Jesus’ name, I pray,
Amen.
May this prayer bring you peace and inspiration for the day ahead.
