Praying the Scriptures

Saturday Morning Prayer

January 4, 2025

And he said to me, “You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will be glorified.” But I said, “I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and vanity; yet surely my cause is with the LORD, and my reward with my God.” (Isaiah 49:3–4)

Loving Creator,

As the 11th Day of Christmas dawns upon the sacred skies of New Mexico, I lift my heart to You. Beneath these golden sunrises and snow-dusted mesas, I find the echoes of Your promise. You call me Your servant, chosen to reflect Your glory, even when I wrestle with doubts and question the worth of my labor.

In the stillness of this morning, as the winter winds weave through the high desert, I offer my life anew. Let my efforts, whether grand or humble, be an offering to You. Like the warm adobe walls that withstand the chill, strengthen my spirit to stand firm in faith, knowing that my cause is secure in Your hands.

Lord, I surrender my frustrations and moments of weariness to You. May Your Spirit guide me, as the Rio Grande carves its way through the land, steady and unwavering. Remind me that Your reward is not measured in fleeting victories, but in the peace and purpose found in serving You.

Today, let me shine with the light of Christmas still glowing in my heart. May I be a vessel of Your love in this world, reflecting the beauty of these New Mexican landscapes—a testimony of Your grace and hope.

Amen.

I hope this prayer brings you peace and inspiration as you start your day.
