Praying the Scriptures
Thursday Morning Prayer
January 2, 2025
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth takes its name. I pray that, according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. (Ephesians 3:14–17a)
Gracious God,
On this ninth day of Christmas, as I come before You, I bow my knees in awe of Your boundless love, from which every family in heaven and on earth takes its name. I praise You for weaving us together into one great family through the birth of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who brought light to this world.
This morning, I ask for the riches of Your glory to fill me, that I may be strengthened with power through Your Spirit in my inner being. As I celebrate this season of joy, I long for Christ to dwell in my heart through faith, taking up residence and making my heart His home.
O Holy One, root me and ground me in Your love, that my life may radiate the warmth and hospitality of Your grace. Let the spirit of New Mexico’s deserts and skies remind me of Your vastness, and may my faith rise like the sun over the rugged mountains, steady and steadfast.
Today, may I carry Your love to those I meet, sharing the good news of this Christmas season through my actions and words. Let my soul sing in harmony with creation as I walk in Your light, trusting in the strength and love You have poured into me.
Amen.
May this prayer bring you peace and inspiration for your day.
