Praying the Scriptures
Monday Evening Prayer
February 10, 2025
On that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city; he sets up victory like walls and bulwarks. Open the gates, so that the righteous nation that keeps faith may enter in. Those of steadfast mind you keep in peace—in peace because they trust in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for in the Lord God you have an everlasting rock. (Isaiah 26:1-4)
O Lord,
As the desert wind hushes and the last embers of the sun fade beyond the Florida Mountains, I lift my heart to You in thanksgiving. The sky, vast and deep, mirrors the steadfastness of Your love—unchanging, enduring, a refuge for all who trust in You.
You, O God, are my stronghold, my refuge in the quiet of the night. The desert, though rugged and wild, is a testament to Your faithfulness. The rocks and ridges stand firm as You stand firm, unshaken by time or trial. When the world around me shifts like sand in the wind, You remain—the Rock eternal, my unyielding foundation.
Lord, as I prepare to lay down my burdens and surrender to the stillness of this February night, grant me the peace that only You can give. Calm my restless thoughts, steady my anxious heart, and remind me that Your hand holds all things in perfect order. Let my trust in You be as sure as the mountain’s base, unmovable by the tempests of this world.
May Your peace cover me like a desert night breeze—gentle, cool, and refreshing. May Your presence be my stronghold, guarding my dreams and renewing my spirit. And when the morning light rises over the peaks, let my first thought be praise for the Rock of my salvation.
In Jesus' holy name, I pray.
Amen.
May this prayer bring solace and inspiration as you end your day in reflection and peace.
