Thursday Evening Prayer

February 6, 2025

I will exult and rejoice in your steadfast love, because you have seen my affliction; you have taken heed of my adversities. (Psalm 31:7)

Gracious God,

As the evening settles over this desert landscape, I pause to reflect on the wonders of this day and the embrace of Your steadfast love.

I am filled with gratitude, for even in my struggles and wandering thoughts, You have seen me, known me, and carried me. Your compassion is as constant as the mountains that surround me, unyielding and unshaken. I rejoice in Your unwavering presence, for I know You have heard my cries and answered my prayers in ways I cannot always comprehend.

Under this vast desert sky, I am reminded of the beauty and simplicity of life here—the gentle whisper of the evening wind, the glow of the stars beginning to appear, and the sense of peace that settles into my soul. Your goodness abounds, even in the quiet and still moments, offering me refuge from the cares of the world.

You have delivered me from the trials that sought to consume me. You have held me close, even when my spirit was faint. In You, I find my strength, my joy, and my hope.

Tonight, as I rest in the shelter of Your mercy, I entrust my spirit to You once again, for I know Your love never fails. Guide my thoughts, protect my dreams, and let my heart dwell securely in Your care.

I rejoice and exult in Your steadfast love, for You, O Lord, are my faithful Redeemer and my unfailing Friend.

Amen.

May this prayer bring you peace and comfort as you end your day.
