Tuesday Evening Prayer
February 11, 2025
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own, but will speak whatever he hears, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. (John 16:13)
Gracious and ever-present Lord,
As the sun dips below the rugged peaks of the Florida Mountains and the desert sky is set ablaze with hues of gold and crimson, I pause in the stillness of this February evening to seek Your presence. The cool night air whispers across the land, and in its hush, I listen for the voice of Your Spirit, my Comforter and Guide.
You have promised, O Lord, that when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide me into all truth. Tonight, I open my heart to that divine leading. Amid life's uncertainties, when the path ahead is dimly lit, I trust that Your Spirit will not leave me wandering in darkness. Illuminate my steps, Lord, that I may walk in the way of righteousness and peace.
In the quiet of this desert night, I surrender my worries, my doubts, and my unfinished labors into Your hands. The stars above remind me of Your faithfulness, and the gentle glow of the moon speaks of Your abiding presence. Just as the desert wind shifts the sands yet leaves the mountains unmoved, let Your truth shape me without shaking the foundation of my faith.
Teach me, Holy Spirit, to discern Your voice amid the noise of the world. Let me not be led astray by fleeting desires or earthly concerns, but anchor me in the truth of Christ’s love. May I reflect that love in my words and deeds, bringing comfort to the weary, light to those in darkness, and hope to those who long for Your grace.
As I lay down to rest beneath this vast and sacred sky, I entrust my soul to You. Guard my dreams, refresh my spirit, and awaken me with renewed strength to serve You again tomorrow.
In the name of Jesus, who is my way, my truth, and my life, I pray.
Amen.
