Praying the Scriptures
Tuesday Evening Prayer
February 25, 2025
Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights; I have put my spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the nations. (Isaiah 42:1)
Heavenly Father,
As the desert sun sets behind the peak of Red Mountain, and the cool February air whispers through the mesquite and creosote, I come before You in the stillness of this evening. The deepening twilight reminds me of Your ever-present light, guiding my steps even in the quiet and unseen moments.
Lord, I rest in the assurance that You uphold me, just as You upheld Your servant. You have chosen me, called me to walk in Your ways, and placed Your Spirit upon me. Though I am but dust carried by the desert wind, You have breathed life into me, shaping me for Your purpose.
Let my heart delight in Your presence as You delight in me. May my words and actions reflect the justice and mercy You desire for the world. In this vast and open land, where the stars soon will shine like a thousand silent prayers, remind me that I am never alone. You go before me, and Your Spirit dwells within me.
Tonight, Lord, I surrender my worries into Your hands. The burdens of the day I lay at Your feet, trusting that You are working even in the silence. As I rest beneath this boundless sky, grant me peace. Let my dreams be filled with the hope of Your promises, and when the dawn breaks over the desert once more, may I rise with renewed strength to serve You.
In the name of Jesus, Your beloved Servant, I pray.
Amen.
May this prayer bring you peace and comfort this evening.
