Praying the Scriptures

Saturday Morning Prayer

February 8, 2025

For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received a spirit of adoption. When we cry, “Abba! Father!” it is that very Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God. (Romans 8:14-16)

Heavenly Father,

As the first light of dawn stretches across the desert and the crisp morning air carries the scent of mesquite and sage, I come before You in gratitude. The stillness of this February morning reminds me of Your abiding presence, and the towering Florida Mountains stand as a testament to Your unshakable faithfulness.

Your Word declares that "all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God." Lord, I am Yours. I am not bound by fear, nor am I a slave to the past—I have been adopted into Your family, and my spirit cries out, "Abba! Father!" In this sacred moment, I rejoice in the truth that I belong to You.

Let this day be a reflection of Your love in my life. As the sun warms the earth, may Your Spirit warm my heart, guiding my thoughts, my words, and my actions. In the quiet rustling of the desert wind, let me hear Your voice leading me in the way of righteousness. Strengthen me to walk as Your child, showing grace to those I meet, offering kindness where it is needed, and extending mercy as You have shown mercy to me.

With each breath, I receive the assurance of Your Spirit—the same Spirit that testifies that I am Yours. Whatever this day may bring, I will not walk in fear, for I am held in the embrace of my heavenly Father.

In Jesus’ name, I pray,

Amen.

I hope this prayer brings you peace and inspiration as you start your day.
