Praying the Scriptures

Saturday Morning Prayer

March 1, 2025

O taste and see that the Lord is good; happy are those who take refuge in him. (Psalm 34:8)

Heavenly Father,

As the first light of morning stretches across the desert and the cool air lingers before the sun claims the day, I pause in Your presence. The scent of creosote and mesquite drifts on the breeze, and the distant mountains stand as silent witnesses to Your faithfulness. The golden glow of dawn reminds me that Your mercies are new every morning.

O Lord, I taste and see Your goodness in the stillness of this sacred hour. In the chirping of the morning birds, the rustling of desert grasses, and the gentle whisper of the wind, You reveal Your nearness. You are my refuge in the vastness of this land, my shelter beneath the endless sky.

As I step into this new day, may my heart be filled with gratitude. Keep my eyes open to Your presence in both the grandeur and the small moments—a neighbor’s kindness, the laughter of a child, the warmth of the sun upon my face. Let my words and actions reflect Your love, that others may also taste and see that You are good.

Bless the work of my hands, the thoughts of my mind, and the desires of my heart. Guide my steps on this journey, that I may walk in faith and not in fear, trusting that You go before me.

In Jesus’ name, I pray,

Amen.

I hope this prayer brings you peace and inspiration as you start your day.
