Praying the Scriptures
Wednesday Morning Prayer
March 26, 2025
The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some think of slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)
Gracious and patient Lord,
As the sun rises over the rugged beauty of the Florida Mountains, I stand before You in the stillness of this March morning, breathing in the crisp desert air. The earth is quiet, yet full of Your presence—reminding me that You are ever near, waiting, not rushing, calling me deeper into Your mercy.
Your word in 2 Peter 3:9 speaks of Your long-suffering love, that You are not slow in keeping Your promises as some understand slowness, but instead, You are patient, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance. How great is Your grace! How vast is Your love!
In my own hurried ways, I often grow impatient—seeking quick answers, longing for swift justice, wanting prayers to be answered in my timing. Yet, here in the expanse of the desert, I am reminded that Your ways are not my ways. You move with purpose. You wait with wisdom. You tarry not in forgetfulness but in boundless love.
So this morning, Lord, help me to walk in Your patience. Teach me to trust in Your perfect timing, to extend grace to others as You have shown grace to me. Let me not grow weary in the waiting but stand firm in faith, knowing that each new day is another invitation to draw closer to You.
As the sun climbs higher and the desert begins to warm, may my heart be set ablaze with a deeper desire to share Your love, to bear witness to Your mercy, and to live as one who trusts fully in Your promises.
Thank You, Lord, for this new day, for Your faithfulness that never fails, and for Your steadfast patience that calls all to redemption.
In the holy name of Jesus, I pray.
Amen.
May the God of steadfast love and infinite patience guide your steps today, filling you with His peace, that you may walk in faith, extend His grace, and trust in His perfect timing.
