Praying the Scriptures

Sunday Evening Prayer

May 11, 2025

For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life is revealed, then you also will be revealed with him in glory. (Colossians 3:3–4)

Gracious Lord,

As the sun slips behind Red Mountain and shadows stretch across the desert floor, I feel the world exhale, and my spirit follows. In this quiet moment, softened by spring’s gentle breath, I remember that my life is hidden with Christ in You.

Though the world pulls at me with its noise and needs, You remind me that my truest self is not shaped by this passing day, but by the eternal life I share in Christ. Even when I feel unseen or uncertain, I rest in the assurance that I am held—sheltered in Your grace, hidden in Your glory.

Let the hush of this evening teach me to release what must fade and to hold fast to what endures. One day, when Christ is revealed, I too will be revealed with Him, radiant in Your light. Until then, help me walk in quiet trust, grounded in the mystery of Your love.

Amen.

May the peace of Christ, in whom your life is hidden, guard your heart this night and awaken you to His glory with the rising sun.
