Praying the Scriptures
Tuesday Evening Prayer
July 15, 2025
I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my whole being shall exult in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation, he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. (Isaiah 61:10)
Gracious Lord,
As the sun slips behind Red Mountain and the last glow fades from the sky, I stand still in the hush of this sacred desert evening. The warmth of the day gives way to gentle twilight, and I breathe deeply, letting my soul rejoice in You.
My heart is full. Not with the fleeting joys of this world, but with the deep, abiding gladness that comes from knowing I am Yours. You have clothed me—not in shame or fear, but in the garments of salvation. You have wrapped me in righteousness like the cool desert breeze now wrapping my shoulders. I feel it, Lord—not just around me, but within me.
The stars begin to appear, one by one, like promises rekindled in the heavens. Red Mountain, silent and strong in silhouette, reminds me that Your faithfulness endures long after the sun has set. The desert rests in quiet confidence, and so do I. For You are near.
Let this peace stay with me through the night. Let my dreams be draped in the same righteousness that covers me now. And when I wake, let me rise again rejoicing, still clothed in Your salvation, still exulting in my God.
Amen.
May the peace of the Lord, who clothes you in salvation and surrounds you with steadfast love, watch over you through the night and awaken you with joy.
