Praying the Scriptures
Friday Morning Prayer
July 11, 2025
Let us approach with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. (Hebrews 10:22)
Gracious and Holy God,
As the first rays of sunlight rise over the Florida Mountains, casting gold across the wide desert floor, I breathe in the stillness of this sacred morning. The air is hushed, not yet stirred by wind or worry. The scent of creosote hangs gently in the air, and the path before me—quiet and dusted with light—beckons me forward.
Here in the calm, I come before You with a true heart, just as Your Word invites. I draw near in full assurance of faith, not because I am worthy on my own, but because You have made me clean. You have sprinkled my conscience with grace and washed me in the pure water of Your mercy. As sure as the sun rises over this desert land, Your steadfast love rises new every morning.
Lord, cleanse me again today. Wash away the dust of yesterday’s failures, and fill me with a spirit that longs to walk in holiness. Let my thoughts be rooted in truth, my steps steady on the path You have set, my words shaped by kindness and compassion. I trust You to lead me through this day—whether the trail winds into silence or into service.
You are here, even now, in this quiet hour before the heat. I sense Your nearness in the light stretching across the valley, in the soft echo of my breath, in the stillness that holds all things in balance. You are not distant, Lord. You are the God who draws close when we dare to draw near.
So I rise with courage this morning—cleansed, renewed, and fully known. I walk into this day as Your child, with faith as my compass and Your presence as my peace. Let my life reflect the hope I carry within me.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
May you walk into this day with a clean heart, full assurance of faith, and the quiet confidence that God goes before you in every step.
