Praying the Scriptures
Friday Morning Prayer
July 25, 2025
Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and prosper for us the work of our hands—O prosper the work of our hands! (Psalm 90:17)
Lord my God,
As the first light of day spills over the ridgeline of the Florida Mountains, I sit in stillness, wrapped in the hush of morning. The sky above me glows with soft hues of amber and rose, and the cool desert air brushes gently across my face. Creosote bushes stretch in quiet welcome, and the mesquite casts long, slender shadows across the earth, which glows warm and expectant beneath the rising sun.
In this sacred silence, I am reminded that You are near—that Your hand has shaped this land and holds this day. Thank You for the beauty that surrounds me, for this breath, this light, this moment. My heart is full of gratitude for Your presence that meets me here, in the wide open stillness of the desert morning.
Let Your favor rest upon me, O Lord. Prosper the work of my hands today—whether it be serving in quiet faithfulness, tending to a neighbor in need, offering words of encouragement, or simply doing small tasks with care and kindness. May every action I take be an offering to You.
Keep my heart aligned with Yours. Help me to walk humbly, speak gently, and love deeply. Let Your Spirit guide me, that even in the ordinary rhythms of this day, Your glory might be known.
Bless the land beneath me, the path before me, and the work You have placed in my hands. O prosper it, Lord—not for my sake, but that Your name may be lifted high.
Amen.
May the light of this new day and the favor of our God go with you, guiding your hands and heart in all you do.
