Praying the Scriptures
Saturday Morning Prayer
July 26, 2025
The LORD exists forever; your word is firmly fixed in heaven. Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast. By your appointment they stand today, for all things are your servants. (Psalm 119:89–91)
Lord,
The first light spills over the Florida Mountains, brushing the peaks with gold and spilling warmth onto the desert floor. Shadows stretch long and quiet across the sand. The creosote bushes tremble in the soft wind, their fragrance rising in the stillness like an offering. Mesquite limbs reach skyward, patient and unmoved, as if they too await the day You have made.
Here in this sacred hush, I pause—grateful, small, and filled with awe.
Your Word, O Lord, is fixed in heaven—unchanging, eternal. As surely as this sun rises each morning, so does Your faithfulness greet every generation. The earth stands because You have willed it so. These mountains, this wind, even the dust at my feet—each one a silent servant of Your purpose, each one testifying to the order You have set in place since the beginning.
If creation bows to You, how much more should I?
So I rise with the light, not only to behold Your glory but to walk in step with it. Let my thoughts be anchored in Your truth today. Let my words echo the grace You have spoken through the ages. Teach me to trust not in the passing, but in what is eternal—Your promises, Your presence, Your love.
Establish my steps, Lord, as surely as You have established the stars and seasons. Let this desert morning remind me that though the world shifts and changes, You do not.
Forever, O Lord, Your Word stands.
Amen.
May the steadfast Word of the Lord guide your steps today, as surely as the sun rises over the mountains He has established forever.
