Praying the Scriptures

Sunday Morning Prayer

July 20, 2025

They shall be my people, and I will be their God. I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me for all time, for their own good and the good of their children after them. (Jeremiah 32:38–39)

O Lord, my God,

As the first light spills across the desert floor and the golden hush of morning stretches over the creosote and stone, I rise with quiet thanks. The Florida Mountains—still shadowed in soft indigo—begin to catch the sun’s glow, and the hush of dawn holds me in its sacred stillness. A mourning dove calls in the distance, and the brush stirs faintly with waking life.

In this moment between night and day, I remember Your promise: “They shall be my people, and I will be their God.” How deeply this truth anchors me. I am Yours—not by merit, but by mercy. You have called me to belong, to be part of Your people, to walk in covenant love that spans generations.

Lord, give me one heart and one way, as You have said—steady my spirit to follow You with undivided purpose. Let my reverence for You not be fleeting, but enduring—woven into the fabric of my every breath, for my good and for the good of those who come after me.

Shape my steps today in holiness and humility. Let the choices I make, the words I speak, and the silence I keep be led by Your Spirit. May the peace I find in this desert morning extend into all I do.

Thank You for this land that sings of Your handiwork—the rugged peaks, the golden light, the patient earth waiting for rain. Thank You for this new day, for the hope it carries, and for the quiet assurance that You are my God—and I am Yours.

Amen.

May the God who calls us His own guide your steps today in unity, reverence, and peace, as His light rises upon the path before you.
