Praying the Scriptures
Thursday Morning Prayer
July 10, 2025
O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker! For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. (Psalm 95:6–7)
Lord, my Maker and Shepherd,
As the first light crests the Florida Mountains and spills softly over the desert floor, I rise in quiet reverence. The creosote bushes catch the morning glow, and the rocks still hold the night’s hush. Here, in this sacred stillness, I bow before You.
You shaped these mountains with Your hand. You scattered the stars that faded just moments ago. And yet, You know me by name. I am one of Your flock—small and wandering, but held close by Your grace. How can I not kneel before You?
Thank You, Lord, for another day—for breath in my lungs, for this wide sky, for the sun warming the stones at my feet. Thank You for being my God—not distant, but near. You lead me through dry places. You nourish me even when the path is hard to see.
Guide my steps today. Let my thoughts echo Your mercy, and my words carry peace. If I am tempted to stray, call me back with the gentle voice I’ve come to know. Help me to listen.
This morning, I offer myself—my work, my rest, my joys, and burdens—as an act of worship. Let me walk as one who belongs to You, a sheep of Your pasture, carried in the hand that made the sun rise.
Amen.
May the Shepherd who formed the mountains and calls you His own lead you in peace and guide your steps with grace throughout this day.
