Praying the Scriptures
Thursday Morning Prayer
July 24, 2025
Do not, therefore, abandon that confidence of yours; it brings a great reward. For you need endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised. (Hebrews 10:35–36)
Gracious and Faithful God,
As the first rays of sunlight crest the Florida Mountains and spill across the desert floor, I rise to meet this new day with open hands and a heart full of gratitude. The air is still cool, laced with the familiar scent of creosote and the quiet breath of dawn. The golden light dances across the sand, reminding me that Your mercies are new every morning—steady and sure as the rising sun.
Lord, I confess there have been days when my confidence wavered. When weariness whispered that I had given enough, waited long enough, hoped too much. But here—now—in the hush of this sacred desert morning, I remember Your Word: “Do not, therefore, abandon that confidence of yours; it brings a great reward.” You have never failed me, even in the long stretches of silence, even when the path was dry and the promises seemed distant.
You have brought me this far not to leave me, but to strengthen me. And so, I thank You for the endurance You’ve already grown in me—for every lesson learned in the waiting, for every tear turned into wisdom, for every trial that refined my trust. I know now that endurance is not just about surviving the journey, but about growing into the person You’ve called me to be—faithful, resilient, and ready to do Your will.
Today, Lord, give me the courage to walk forward in that calling. Let me move with quiet confidence, not in my own strength, but in Yours. Help me to serve, to love, to lead, and to listen with patience, knowing that Your promises are sure and the reward is greater than anything I could imagine.
I will not abandon my confidence, Lord. Not today. Not ever. For You are my reward, and in You, I place my trust.
Amen.
May the God who rewards faithful endurance fill your heart with courage today, and may His promises shine brighter than the morning sun upon your path.
