Praying the Scriptures
Thursday Morning Prayer
July 3, 2025
…constantly praying with joy in every one of my prayers for all of you, because of your sharing in the gospel from the first day until now. I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:4-6)
Gracious Lord,
As the first light spills over the Florida Mountains and casts a golden hush upon the desert, I rise with gratitude in my heart. The creosote bushes shimmer with dew, the air is cool and still, and the doves begin their low song—each note a gentle call to awaken. In this quiet hour before the world stirs too much, I lift my eyes to You and give thanks.
Thank You for the brothers and sisters who share this walk of faith with me—for those near and far who have labored beside me in love, prayer, and service from the beginning. Like the rising sun that never fails, Your faithfulness endures, and I find joy in remembering each one You have placed on this journey with me.
Lord, You began a good work in us—Your Church, Your people, this nation in all its imperfection—and I believe, even now, You are bringing it to fulfillment. As we approach Independence Day, my prayer is not only for liberty celebrated in fireworks and flags, but for the deeper freedom found in You: freedom to serve, to love, to forgive, and to live with purpose.
Help me walk in that calling today—with courage, humility, and hope. Let my words speak life. Let my actions bear witness to Your grace. And let my heart beat in rhythm with Your Spirit, trusting that what You have started in me and in us, You will surely complete.
Amen.
May the God who began a good work in you fill this day with purpose, peace, and the joy of walking faithfully in His grace.
