Praying the Scriptures
Tuesday Morning Prayer
July 22, 2025
You are those who have stood by me in my trials; and I confer on you, just as my Father has conferred on me, a kingdom, so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom. (Luke 22:28–30a)
Lord Jesus,
The first light of morning spills gently over the Florida Mountains, painting the desert gold. I stand in stillness, surrounded by creosote and mesquite stirring in the breeze, and I breathe in the promise of a new day. The hush of dawn, broken only by birdsong and the soft rustle of waking life, feels like a sacred whisper—reminding me that You are near.
I think of Your words: “You are those who have stood by me in my trials.” Lord, I have stumbled through many valleys—some of my own making, others carved by grief, hardship, or weariness—but through them all, I clung to You. And You never let go.
That You would speak such words to me—that You would call me one who stood by You—is more grace than I can fathom. You, the King of glory, speak of sharing Your Kingdom. Of sitting at Your table. Of belonging.
This morning, as the desert awakens and the light grows stronger, I feel the weight and wonder of that promise. You have conferred upon me not only a calling, but a place—at Your table, in Your Kingdom. I am awed. I am humbled. I am grateful beyond words.
Lord, grant me strength today to serve You with joy. Let me walk faithfully, speak truthfully, love generously. Help me remember that this desert—though dry and rugged—is not my home, but the road that leads me ever closer to Your eternal feast.
Thank You for trusting me, calling me, and carrying me. May the rising sun remind me that Your mercies are new every morning and that Your Kingdom is both near and everlasting.
In Your holy name I pray,
Amen.
May the light of Christ guide your steps today, and may His promised Kingdom shine through all you do in faith, love, and steadfast hope.
