Praying the Scriptures
Tuesday Morning Prayer
July 8, 2025
When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears, and rescues them from all their troubles. The LORD is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:17-18)
Gracious and Merciful God,
As the first light spills over the Florida Mountains and dances upon the creosote, I lift my heart to You—still bruised in places, but beating with hope. The cool hush of the desert morning wraps around me like a gentle reminder that You are near, even when yesterday's burdens still cling to my soul.
I have cried out in the dark, Lord—and You heard me. Not always with thunder or swift rescue, but with the steady nearness of Your presence. When my spirit was crushed beneath the weight of sorrow, You sat beside me in silence until I could breathe again.
This morning, I do not ask for answers—only for more of You. More of Your peace, more of Your steadfast love, more of the assurance that You walk with me into this new day. Thank You for the gift of sunlight breaking over these rugged peaks, for the dew that clings to thirsty earth, and for the breath in my lungs.
You are faithful, even when I falter. You are healer, even when I am undone. And You are my refuge, especially when I feel lost.
So here I am, Lord—tender but trusting, broken but not abandoned. With every golden ray of this sunrise, remind me again: You are near to the brokenhearted, and You save those who cry out. I believe it. I receive it.
Amen.
May the God who hears your cries and binds up your broken heart walk with you through this day, guiding each step with mercy and light.
